The federal government is hosting the G20 (Group of Twenty) Innovation Forum at the Carolina Inn on September 1 and 2. The G20 is an international group that brings together the world’s major economies to coordinate global economic policy.
Here are a few things you should know:
You’ll notice increased law enforcement presence downtown, especially around the Carolina Inn. The Chapel Hill Police Department is coordinating with the University, as well as regional, state, and federal agencies, to keep community safety a top priority.
Plan for increased traffic throughout the week. The forum is bringing hundreds of folks to downtown at a time that’s already busy with the return of students. Please give yourself extra time to get where you’re going.
