Police officers and firefighters respond to thousands of accidental alarms every year. These responses to false alarms tie up life-saving resources and funds. Our Accidental Alarm Program works to prevent false alarms.
Register your alarm to avoid a $100 fine for each of the first three accidental alarms that may occur at your address in a rolling one-year period.
Excessive accidental alarm activations within a rolling one-year period carry the following fines regardless of registration.
4-5 - $100 each
6-7 - $200 each
8-9 $300 each
10+ - $500 each

An accidental alarm is any signal that prompts an emergency response from police officers and firefighters who do not discover an emergency after arriving. Malfunctioning equipment, human error, or environmental factors often cause accidental alarm activations.
