Bio
Elizabeth Sharp was elected to Town Council in 2023. She and her husband own several independent restaurants in Chapel Hill, and Elizabeth is motivated to bring her small business perspective to decisions about Chapel Hill’s future. In addition to helping shepherd their current establishments from the concept stage to fully-realized, financially-viable, award-winning restaurants, Elizabeth has worked in marketing and development in several other industries, in addition to prior experience in restaurant management. Elizabeth’s volunteer efforts have been concentrated on her three children’s educational institutions, where over the years she has aided in fundraising and served as PTA President and on the Northside School Improvement Team. She holds a BA in English from the University of Virginia, an MA in English from Tulane University, and an AOS degree in Culinary Arts from the California Culinary Academy.
Elizabeth and her family returned to her husband’s home state of North Carolina in 2016 and have lived in Chapel Hill since then. They enjoy living close to downtown and the University of North Carolina campus, and the proximity that gives them to the places that are such an integral part of their family history. They are all fierce Tarheel fans. Elizabeth’s family is rounded out by two dogs and an indispensable tribe of Chapel Hill neighbors and friends.
