Skater at Homestead Skate Park

The familiar sounds of skateboards, roller blades, scooters, and bikes are back at the Homestead Skate Park, but you may notice a slight difference. Instead of rolling across an old wooden structure, those wheels are gliding across smooth concrete.

"The original skatepark was beloved, but falling apart, so a renovation was a long time coming," said Kevin Robinson, Senior Manager of Park Planning and Operations. "When we asked, our local skating community made it clear the design of the original park should endure. We listened. This new park honors the experience of the original."

The Town reopened the park to community members in December, after about five months of work on the improvements. In the Spring, as the weather warms up, crews will finish landscaping, and host a community celebration.
