The public will take notice that the Town Council of the Town of Chapel Hill will conduct a public hearing at Council Chambers at Town Hall at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, concerning a proposed ordinance amending the Charter of the Town of Chapel Hill, as set forth in Chapter II of the 2006 Session Laws of North Carolina, as amended, to reduce the size of Town Council from eight (8) members and a mayor to six (6) members and a mayor and to increase the Town Mayor’s term from two (2) to four (4) years. Following the public hearing, the Town Council will consider passage of the ordinance at its regular meeting to be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
