Bio
Louie is an Associate Professor at North Carolina State University with appointments in the Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources, Park, Recreation and Tourism Management and Integrative Humanities and Social Sciences. Louie’s research and teaching focuses on the inclusion of minority and underserved populations in decision making processes about their built and natural environment.
Louie earned his Ph.D. in Natural Resources from Ohio State University in 2006, concentrating on Risk Perception and Decision-Making. He also holds a Master of Science in Natural Resources (2003), focused on Human Dimensions from Ohio State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Kentucky State University (2001), where he minored in Chemistry.
Louie lives in the Northside neighborhood with his wife Whitney and two children.
