Swimming Pool Rules and Regulations

Supervision Requirements

Children 15 and older may enter the facility without an adult. 

Children 14 and under must stay with an adult (18+). One adult may supervise up to 4 children, or 2 children if any child is 5 or younger. 

Children 5 and under must have an adult in the water and within arm’s reach. Maximum 2 children per adult. 

Anyone wearing a safety vest must have an adult in the water and within arm’s reach. Maximum 2 people per adult. Safety vests are not allowed in the lap pool or lap lanes.

Pool Rules

Safety Comes first, what to know:

· Lifeguards have the final say on all safety matters.

· Parents and guardians must actively watch their children at all times.

· Children 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult (18+) at all times. One adult may supervise up to 4 children.

· Children 5 and under, and anyone wearing a safety vest, must have an adult in the water and within arm’s reach. Maximum of 2 per adult (18+).

· Proper swimwear is required. Street clothes (such as gym shorts, denim, or undergarments) and cotton materials are not allowed.

· Only U.S. Coast Guard–approved flotation devices are allowed.

· The facility will close for 30 minutes after thunder or lightning. No refunds or rain checks.

· One long whistle or three short whistle blasts means you must clear the pool.

· CHILDREN SHOULD NOT USE THE SWIMMING POOL WIHTOUT ADULT SUPERVISION

· ADULTS SHOULD NOT SWIM ALONE

Before entering the pool:

· Shower before entering the pool.

· Swim tests are required for anyone who wants to swim in water 6 feet deep or deeper.

· No rough play.

· No food, drinks, or gum in the pool area.

· No glass in the pool area.

· No pets in the pool area.

· No smoking, vaping, drug, or alcohol use on Town property.

· Leave valuables at home. We're not responsible for lost or stolen items. 

· Lap lanes are for continuous lap swimming only

Failure to adhere to our rules may result in removal from the facility. No refunds will be offered. 

Swim Test

We require anyone who wants to swim in water six feet or deeper to take the American Red Cross Swim Competency Test without goggles:

  1. Step or jump into water over your head.
  2. Float or tread water for one minute.
  3. Turn around in a full circle.
  4. Swim 25 yards/meters to the exit without stopping.
  5. Exit the water without using the steps or a ladder.

Group Use Guidelines

  1. Groups of 10 or more are required to make a reservation request with facility management in order to schedule their visit.
  2. Reservation requests must be received a minimum of 2 weeks in advance, and can be denied due to staffing or facility programming.
  3. Before entering the water, groups will be required to review the aquatic facility's rules and regulations with aquatic staff.
  4. One adult (age 16 or older) must be actively supervising in the water for every 10 youth swimmers, 6-12 years old. Adult must enter water before any youth enter water.
  5. All supervision guidelines and rules listed on the opposite side apply to group swims.
