Arbor Day Celebration

Next date: Friday, November 20, 2026 | 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM

As a proud Tree City USA community, Chapel Hill continues to invest in the health and beauty of our urban forest.

Celebrate Arbor Day with us Friday, November 20 at 11 AM at Umstead Park as we plant a River Birch and recognize the importance of trees in our community.

This year's event will feature a River Birch planting and special performances by 2nd grade students and their teachers, Ms. Molly Biek, Ms. Kristina Joyce and Ms. Aneesa Irizarry from Northside Elementary School alongside Mayor Jess Anderson.

Let's celebrate the next generation of tree stewards and the lasting impact of our urban forest.

The Friends of Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation, helps us protect and grow Chapel Hill's urban forest for generations to come. Your support allows us to plant a variety of native trees each year, strengthening our tree canopy and creating a greener, healthier community for all.

Give today. Grow tomorrow.
