The below referenced legal notices are on file with the Town Clerk at Chapel Hill Town Hall, 405 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Written comments may be submitted to the Mayor and Town Council mayorandcouncil@townofchapelhill.org
Residents are invited to give input at public hearings and forums. Those with difficulty hearing or speaking may arrange assistance from an interpreter by calling 919-968-2743 a week prior to the meeting. Also listed are public hearings scheduled for a specific Council meeting date, although periodically, some may be continued to a future date. Public hearings may relate to the Land Use Management Ordinance (LUMO), Residential or Commercial Development, Budget, Transportation, or Housing issues. Meeting materials are posted at Council Meeting Agendas, Minutes and Videos.

Public Comment Period & Public Hearing
2026-2027 Community Development Block Grant Annual Action Plan and Prior Annual Action Plans
Town Council held an initial public hearing on November 12, 2025 and will hold a second public hearing to review program performance and receive resident input on the draft 2026-27 CDBG funding plan, Annual Action Plan, and the draft amended 2022-2023 and 2025-2026 Annual Action Plans during the Town Council meeting at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. The Action Plan and funding plan decide how the Town will spend federal CDBG money for the next year.
The public is also invited to review and comment on the draft 2026-2027 CDBG Annual Action Plan and the prior amended Annual Action Plans, which will be made available during normal business hours of operation for a period of thirty (30) days beginning Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the following locations:
Please submit all comments by 5:00 pm on Thursday, April 30, 2026. Written comments may be submitted to Melissa Peters, Funding Programs Coordinator, Housing and Community Development Department, 405 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Chapel Hill, NC 27514 or via email to CDBG@chapelhillnc.gov. All comments will be incorporated into the final 2026-2027 Annual Action Plan and amended prior Annual Action Plans submitted to HUD.

On May 6th, 2026 at 6pm, the Chapel Hill Town Council will hold a public hearing in the Council Chamber at 405 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Chapel Hill NC 27514, to consider a request to permanently close a public drainage easement at 1301 Fordham Blvd. This area exists at the southern corner of the intersection of Ephesus Church Rd and Fordham Blvd, and measures 94-ft long with an area of 689-sq.ft.
