We send email alerts — such as significant road closures or areas to avoid — during severe weather and other emergencies. Our email subscribers also receive a weekly newsletter called Our Town every Thursday which includes news, events, stories, and alerts from the Town of Chapel Hill.
Orange County's OC Alerts notification system serves all residents in the county. You can sign up for emergency emails, texts, and/or phone calls for critical information during a variety of emergencies. Examples include severe weather, unexpected road closures, missing persons, and evacuations.

If you see a tree down, and:
it's dangerous, call 911.
it's on public property, report it at our Resident Reporter Center.
it's not on public property, call a tree company or wait until it's safe to clear it.
